Naomi works as a university lecturer and maths education researcher. She is an experienced teacher - working in New Zealand and the Sultanate of Oman - and retains a current teaching practice certificate. She spends time with mathematics teachers throughout NZ through her speaking role for the New Zealand maths association. Naomi is passionate about all aspects of teaching, but has spent considerable time exploring students' and teachers' relationships with mathematics. Naomi is kept busy with a husband who has just finished biking the length of New Zealand, two kids studying at uni, and her large garden. She competes and volunteers as a Surf Lifesaver, and enters sports events often without adequate preparation. But she's prepared for this conference and is looking forward to meeting everyone at MAV.
